Jessica Ellins is part of HOFFMANN EITLE’s Biotechnology practice group in the London office, and is currently training to become a British and European Patent Attorney. With her background in Biochemistry, she has a broad technical knowledge in the fields of protein biochemistry, structural biology and genetics.
Prior to joining the firm in October 2023, Jessica earned her Masters in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford, where her research focused on DNA damage repair pathways. Whilst at Oxford, Jessica was the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the Pembroke College Scholarship and an Amgen Research Scholarship. Most recently, Jessica completed her PhD at the London Institute of Medical Sciences at Imperial College London. There, she conducted research into in vitro reconstituted chromatin structure and the effect of heterochromatin proteins on DNA conformation using biochemical and structural tools.
In her free time, you can find Jessica enjoying a good book, going to the theatre or competing in a pub quiz with friends.
