Opening of the Milan Section of the UPC Central Division

It was now announced that the Milan section of the Unified Patent Court (UPC) central division will officially open its doors on June 27, 2024. This follows the Decision of the Administrative Committee on June 26, 2023, under Article 87(2) of the Unified Patent Court Agreement (UPCA), amending the Agreement to establish a central section in Milan. The Milan section will handle cases related to IPC class A (Human Necessities) without Supplementary Protection Certificates.

The panel of judges for the Milan section includes Mr. Andrea Postiglione as the Presiding Judge, with Ms. Anna-Lena Klein and Ms. Marije Knijff as judges. The court is located at Via San Barnaba 50, 20122, Milan, Italy.
