Solution-oriented chemist with a passion for troubleshooting
Before joining HOFFMANN EITLE, Anja Stenbock began her career in 2016 at an internationally active boutique law firm in Essen. After successfully qualifying as a German and European patent attorney and gaining initial experience in the profession, she found her place at the renowned Düsseldorf law firm König Szynka Tilmann von Renesse, where she took on the management of clients from the chemical industry.
Anja's primary focus is on managing patent portfolios and providing strategic advice to startups, internationally active medium-sized companies, and academic institutions. Her expertise includes handling European and international application procedures, opposition proceedings before the EPO and Boards of Appeal, as well as planning and evaluating various monitoring and search strategies. She considers a personal, cooperative working relationship with her clients to be fundamental. Her technical specialties lie in materials chemistry, polymer chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and medical technology.
Before entering the field of intellectual property law, she completed her doctoral research at the DWI – Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials on the topic of block copolymers in thin films. During this time, she gained international experience at University College Cork in Ireland, where she worked on the microwave treatment of polymer films. Her research findings were published in four scientific papers.
To clear her mind and recharge, Anja relies on Krav Maga and diverse travels with her young family.
