Dr. Robert Lücke joined the biotech and chemistry group of HOFFMANN EITLE in February 2025. He studied biochemistry at the University of Regensburg, supplemented by a (prize-winning) stay abroad at the University of Edinburgh in the field of immunology and medical microbiology. After completing his doctorate on the inactivation of oncoproteins in the Department of Structural Biology at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology in Dortmund, he worked in the research department of a biotechnology company.

He has worked in intellectual property law since 2006. His technical specialisations are primarily in pharmaceuticals, molecular biology, biotechnology and chemistry. Robert advises and represents German and international clients ranging from start-ups to large companies with a focus on patent prosecution, opposition and nullity proceedings and the assessment of validity and infringement issues. In addition to his work at the law firm, he taught intellectual property as part of the university degree programme ‘Biomedical Engineering’ at RWTH Aachen University.

Robert particularly enjoys making music in his spare time and has been active as a bass player in bands of various styles.
